Why shop “notify me” buttons let you down
Some shops don't offer one. Others send alerts in batches, only for some sizes, or into spam. Watching the product page itself doesn't depend on any of that: when the page changes, you hear about it.
Watch just the part that matters
Point ChangeGist at the buy button or stock message, and price tweaks or new reviews elsewhere on the page won't trigger alerts. It's under Advanced options when you add a page.
How quickly you'll know
That depends on your plan: every 6 hours on Starter, every 15 minutes on Pro and every 5 minutes on Business. For items that sell out within seconds, no alert can promise you'll get one, but you'll know far sooner than by checking yourself.
What we can't watch
Stock that only appears after logging in, and large marketplaces that limit automated visits. Those are checked gently or not at all.
Tips for getting the item
- Add the page as soon as it sells out, so you're watching from the start.
- Save your address and payment details with the shop beforehand to check out faster.
- If the shop sells several sizes or colours on one page, watch the section for the one you want.
- Turn on alerts on your phone for your email app so you see the message quickly.
Works for more than shopping
The same idea works for event tickets that are released in batches, course places, appointment slots on public booking pages and limited editions. If availability shows up as a change on a public page, ChangeGist can tell you about it.
